Dreaming Of A South Pacific Getaway

For anyone who has ever dreamed of a South Pacific getaway, where hues of blue paint the seascape and the sand is pristine. Beach House Finds suggests lagoon living on the French Polynesia's Fours Seasons Bora Bora Resort, over water bungalows and beachfront villas on a private white sand fringed islet. Snorkeling and diving are at the top of the list of activities along with a variety of large marine life, manta rays, dolphins, sea cucumbers, brain coral, yellow and blue striped trigger fish, and sea turtles. Bora Bora is prime underwater exploration territory. After a day of marine life, the Four Seasons Bora Bora Spa is a warm welcoming haven, balancing the surging energy of the Pacific with the tranquility of the turquoise lagoon.

The island is so identified with black pearls that it’s called “the pearl of the Pacific”
. Despite modern cultivation techniques, the black pearls of Bora Bora are still prized and highly valued jewels. There is an official guide for tourists, which is available at airports, tourism offices and some jewellers on the island.

Michener used Bora Bora as inspiration for his mythic Bali Ha’i. The music from the Broadway musical South Pacific runs through our heads as the sun set in orange, red and purple shades behind Mount Otemanu.
