Celebrating Christmas at The Beach House

Christmas At The Beach Is Always Nautical

Christmas Eve is upon us and living on the beach is always a beautiful way to spend the Holiday. A Beach House sets the tone for a nautical Christmas theme. Being close to water is always a mystical seas side delight. A simple theme of Starfish was our decorating table top focus for our beach house this Holiday. Beach House Finds, staff found this tropical beach Christmas theme to be a simple inexpensive way of setting the table for the Holidays.
Pine cones collected in the nearby woods, Starfish, evergreens picked from the back yard, glass jars, white pearled Christmas ball ornaments are mixed in with the holiday nautical beach table theme. This is simply arranged and placed on a white table cloth. For the Beach House Christmas tree, pointsettia's and starfish decorate a beautiful Beach House Christmas tree.

This week you may have the impulse to host a casual get-together, this year with our ression filled economy why not call up your friends or e-vite, neighbors or family, tell them you're organizing a potluck, and ask them to bring along one dish to share with the rest of the group.

This table setting is from Skagen Hus, located in a small weekend and summer home community about 2 hours North of Chicago called Williams Bay, WI. It is a danish family run operation of Boutique retail and internet outlet business.

A Fall Midwest Beach Table

In the fall bring the beach indoors (and use a floor-to-ceiling view of that glorious lake as a backdrop). This setting celebrates the warmer tones found in the dunes only in the fall – celadon greens and rich taupes. Bundles of dried dunegrass anchor the table and create height, with natural stone vases and votive holders adding a soft glow. Sprinkle a collection of local shells around the place settings for a personal touch; the effect is mimicked in a charming seashell-shaped pitcher. The ceramic European dishware in hydrangea green is perfect for a relaxed alfresco brunch or lunch, with a simple, flat piece of driftwood used as a serving platter. Stylist Robert Michael Northington says “It’s a specialness that can only be found in communities by water – an easy, breezy way of living and entertaining that’s artistic, creative and relaxed.”

Chicago born and raised Robert Northington who now lives in Millers Beach, Lake Country in Indiana has been a fellow boutique owner friend and partner in design for years! They met in the Chicago Showroom of Barbara Sheehan in 1995 and were quick to become designing friends. In Chicago they have collaborate heads on many projects and on this site Beach House Finds Robert rallied around its conception. Robert Northington is featured in Lakemagazine.com for Tablescapes he styled.

As
Lake Magazine's Editor, Megan Waitkoff stated "It takes a certain je ne sais quoi to take a blank canvas and design a masterpiece – which is exactly what LAKE asked Robert Northington to do with our “Tablescapes” feature. He created three masterpieces, to be exact."

What Beach House Dinner Party Theme Do You Love?

A beach party theme is always tres chic in the art of fine dinning. A simple yet elegant touch of nature can set a tone for a beach house diner party. We placed Coconut Bark between a charger and leaf shape plate and established an organic, ocean and beach theme. Dinner guest are intrigued by the touch of nature and we often find it sets the tone for worldly travel stories by guests. We suggest putting on background music by dreamy indie-pop duo Beach House.

If you do not have a coconut tree near by, you can order it from Coconut Crafting to this sophisticated while casual beach house dinner party.
